Strengthening Children, Families & Communities

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT APPLICATIONS IS NOVEMBER 15, 2019.

Thompson strengthens children, families, and communities through healing, teaching, worship, and play. Founded in 1886 as an orphanage, Thompson has since grown into a leading non-profit organization providing clinical and prevention services for children and families across the Carolinas. The Charlotte, N.C.-based, nationally accredited agency changes the lives of at-risk children and families through clinical and behavioral health treatment, family stability work, and early childhood development services. Today, around 1 in 5 adolescents have a diagnosable mental health disorder. At our most intensive level, we provide residential treatment and support to children suffering from severe trauma and/or mental illness and assist in transitioning them to a stable and loving home. Our goal is to create a stable foundation on which children and families can learn to thrive for a lifetime.

About the Superstar Foundation

The Superstar Foundation was founded in 2007 with a two-fold mission:

  • To identify and reward individuals who use data to improve outcomes for underserved individuals, families and communities.
  • To promote and advance transformative relationships as the driving force to outcome achievement in the social services sector;

As health, education and social services continue to progress towards better measurement of outcomes, the Superstar Foundation believes that transformative relationships and a commitment to data-based decision making at the level of engagement is the key to all long-term, sustainable improvement in the lives of those we serve.
