Honoring our Front Line Superstars

Children's Home Society of Florida is proud to recognize our superstars. Every year, our army of heroes – 1,800 strong – impacts 50,000+ lives as we empower more children to realize their full potential.

It's our privilege to commend our front line: the employees who wipe the tears, listen to the stories, find security and safety for children, and build bridges to success every day. As we honor the impact of our front line, our supervisors, managers and executives will identify CHS Superstars and complete thorough nominations for our unsung heroes – child care workers, family support workers, clinical counselors, case managers and home visitors – by using the Superstar Foundation’s criteria (a combination of qualitative and quantitative data demonstrating the impact the individual has had on the lives of our children).

Nominees from throughout the state will be presented to our Children's Home Society of Florida leadership team, who will select one individual to honor as our CHS Superstar. Our CHS Superstar will receive $2,500 from CHS and will move forward for consideration of the national Superstar Foundation award.

If the CHS Florida nominee wins the Superstar Foundation award, he or she will receive $5,000 from the Foundation and another $2,500 from CHS, for a total possible award of $10,000. All of this will happen before the end of the calendar year.

If you have any questions, please email Jennifer.Walck@chsfl.org.

Four years ago, our CHS Superstar brought home the national award – and we know our 2019 CHS Superstar can do it, too!

About the Superstar Foundation

The Superstar Foundation was founded in 2007 with a two-fold mission:

  • To identify and reward individuals who use data to improve outcomes for underserved individuals, families and communities.
  • To promote and advance transformative relationships as the driving force to outcome achievement in the social services sector;

As health, education and social services continue to progress towards better measurement of outcomes, the Superstar Foundation believes that transformative relationships and a commitment to data-based decision making at the level of engagement is the key to all long-term, sustainable improvement in the lives of those we serve.
